Having your 1:1 nutrition coach allows us to tailor an individual program that is just right for you. During our initial consultation we will discuss in detail your current diet, lifestyle and any medical conditions. We will set health and nutrition goals together and ensure any recommendations fit your lifestyle and are flexible enough for you to sustain.

During a review consultation, we will assess your progress and provide ongoing support, education and motivation.

Bring A Buddy
2 people with like-minded health goals (up to 1.5hrs)

 

90mins – $230

 

Bring a friend, sister, brother, partner and parent etc with a like minded health goal and help support each other to ensure success. Combine your consultation with a buddy to save money and have the extra motivational support!

AGED CARE

 

Our dedicated Aged Care Dietitians provide a professional and caring service using a food first approach. We understand the nutrition and hydration needs of older adults change over time and recognise food is to nourish and enjoy.

Menu and Mealtime Quality Assessments (MMQA) are mandatory every 12 months in all aged care facilities. The dedicated Aged Care team at Hunter Dietetics are highly experienced in providing a comprehensive MMQA service to ensure resident needs are met and aligned to best practice and regulatory standards.

This service includes:

  • A visit to your organisation to meet with key catering, care and nursing staff
  • Review of nutrition policy and procedures
  • Menu appraisal including assessment of serving sizes, nutritional requirements of older adults and variety of meals provided
  • Assessment of dining experience
  • Detailed report with recommendations aligned to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards and Dietitians Australia guidelines

1. What is a Dietitian?

A Dietitian is a University qualified allied health professional able to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice. A Dietitian has a strong scientific background and is able to translate scientific nutrition information into practical and understandable advice to assist people to improve their health.

2. Why see an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) has University qualifications and participates in ongoing training and education to meet the Dietitians Australia (DA) guidelines for best practice. An APD is skilled in the complex relationship between food, diet and health and may provide nutrition and dietary advice to individuals, and/or groups on general healthy eating or a more complex medical condition.

3. What's the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

The main difference is Dietitians have undertaken additional University training, including supervision in a clinical setting and medical nutrition training. The team at Hunter Dietetics are both Accredited Practising Dietitians and Accredited Nutritionists, credentialed by Dietitians Australia.
